Graduate Outcomes 2024 will explore the latest insights from the Graduate Outcomes Survey and examine how to use the dataset to drive enhancement in career service delivery, maximise the impact of employability interventions and develop a successful strategic approach to progression.

This implementation-focussed event will allow you to join a series of deep-dive workshops which will evaluate the continuous improvement of the dataset with HESA, assess the latest analysis of the graduate labour market and allow you to develop your action plan on operationalising Graduate Outcomes data.

Objectives

  • Gain the latest updates from HESA and Jisc on the development of the Graduate Outcomes dataset

  • Analyse what the latest releases tell us about the graduate labour market and how employability leaders should respond

  • Examine how Graduate Outcomes data forms part of the regulatory approach to monitoring progression and how institutions can develop an ongoing process of review

  • Explore how to use the data insights to inform employability intervention and enhance outcomes

In this HESA-led session, participants will take a deep-dive into the Graduate Outcomes survey and examine the latest developments in its methodology and further enhancements to the survey. The session will explore: 

  •  Data quality assurance and change processes 

  • Survey response rate analysis and activities to increase response rate 

  • The international review of the survey  

  • How are students engaging with the Graduate Outcomes survey and how can providers support awareness further?  

  • How we ensure Graduate Outcomes data is valuable for providers and continues to meet the needs of the sector

This session will offer an in-depth analysis of the latest Graduate Outcomes data release (2020/21), what we know about the development of the graduate labour market and what providers should expect in the next release (2021/22).

  • Trends on graduate labour market demand and vacancies

  • The state of business confidence and the long-term outlook for graduate recruitment

Workshop: Using Data Insights to Build an Impactful Careers Service at Pace

 

Bath Spa will share a case study of how they utilised Graduate Outcomes data and other sources to deliver an impactful strategy for their Careers Service at pace. The workshop will:​

  • Introduce the approach taken to designing a new employability strategy, including harnessing graduate outcomes and wider data sources to drive decision making and resource allocation

  • Share how we have utilised a wide range of data sets to create KPIs, develop objectives and our impact monitoring mechanisms

  • Provide a practical example of how Graduate Support is delivered within the Careers Service to align to the overall strategy and to make meaningful impact to graduates in the 15-month lead to the Graduate Outcomes Survey​

  • Invite colleagues to reflect on approaches to utilising data in their own context

This interactive session will allow attendees to examine how to successfully translate graduate outcomes data into a high impact approach on service design and intervention development.

  • Harnessing data to inform employability service design

  • Delivering graduate advancement programmes which act on student needs and support at-risk groups

  • Optimising employability interventions to drive improved progression rates

  • Measuring and monitoring the long-term outcomes from employability interventions to understand what works

Workshop: Measuring Graduate Outcomes and Adapting to Progression Indicators in B3 and TEF Metrics

 

This workshop will assess the place of Graduate Outcomes within the regulatory context and how an institution can deliver a joined-up response on measuring and acting on progression data.

  • The progression metrics used in TEF and B3 and how these are constructed through Graduate Outcomes data

  • Action points for an institution in supporting coordinated thinking on progression through these metrics

  • Identifying warning signs, drivers of non-positive outcomes and developing triggers for groups and courses at risk of not hitting minimum thresholds

  • Developing an approach to continuous monitoring and evaluation to drive decision-making and enhance performance on progression
